Balls, Balls, Balls

Little Hurricane LOVES balls.  He’s obsessed, really.  Give him a ball to play with and he’s entertained for hours.

His favorite thing to do is throw the ball at people.  Then when they get knocked upside the head and say “Ouch!”, he laughs and laughs.

And does it again.

He has a little bit of a mean streak in him, I think.

He also loves to throw balls at the tv.  When The Dada or I freak out over a hard ball being thrown at our only television, Little Hurricane thinks that’s hilarious as well.

The other day he was throwing this small but hard bouncy ball around the room.  He started throwing it at the tv, and I went to go take the ball away from him.  But then it bounced over the tv and landed behind it.  I went back to my cooking, figuring that was a good place for it to stay.

A few minutes later The Dada points to our living room and says, “Look, do you think that’s a problem?”

Hmmm, I’m betting I will be in the market for a new television pretty soon.

  3. My 2 year old loves balls, too! He calls them all "basketball".
I hope that TV survives... I'm hoping mine becomes a casualty so hubs will buy a new one!

  4. Get that brace thing that anchors it to the wall. It is the only chance that TV has.

  7. Oh wow! Yes, that's probably going to be a problem. LOL My son knocked down our tv when he was little. Thank God he didn't get hurt. Just shocked. Congrats on your SITS feature. I found you on their site.

  8. Yup...it's always like that in my house. Coop loves balls too but will also throw anything that resembles a ball! I think there is a mean streak in mine too!

I volunteered in church for his class the other day and had the realization...I have the class meanie. Yup, he was the mean one. He was always grabbing toys and knocking kids over (not on purpose but just by flying by them because he does not walk, he runs!)

    ugh!!! Here we go!!!

  11. Ha, you mean he hadn't spent all kinds of time back there before? As soon as the Babby could walk, she started wedging herself into all kinds of tight spaces. Just today, she tried desperately to squish herself under a door!

  12. Yikes! It looks like your tv could be on it's last days with the hard balls coming at it like that. Our almost two year old likes to throw balls as well. So far not at the tv. I am NOT letting him see this post! :D have a wonderful SITS day!

  15. Awh!! Get the TV brace - or a wall mount - both of which would be less expensive then a new TV... SO scary... found you on SITS - love your blog - I co-host a weekly meme for parents of Toddlers - would love for you to swing by - it goes up every wednesday night!

  16. Maybe it's a bad place to be. Maybe you need a wall-mounted TV. You would have a few more years of safety.

    Happy belated SITs day.

  17. Oh dear....this is a problem for sure. I must say, you definitely do have a busier boy than I do. That must be because God knows I'd kill him if he did stuff like that. Or I'd die. One way or the other....Max mostly stays out of trouble. Here's hoping your TV survives toddlerhood.
