Books.
Yeah I know- books are good for us, we're supposed to read to our kids for 20 minutes a day so they'll develop a love of reading, books make you smarter.....blah blah blah. Picking up hundreds of books multiple times a day is NOT good for me. It doesn't make me smarter, it makes me angrier.
Why am I picking up so many books every day you ask? Do I volunteer in a library you ask? HAHAHA- this is why:
Ah yes, CamCam strikes again. Why does he do this? Can he not resist seeing the neatly lined rows and must instead have chaos?
Maybe it's like when dad looses his keys and so pulls the house apart looking for them. Maybe CamCam is looking for a particular book and cannot find it and so pulls the bookcase apart.
Or, and here's the one I'm betting on, maybe he just likes making messes.
He must just be laughing and laughing inside when he sees me working so hard to put all these back up on the shelves, trying to organize according to hard-cover, soft-cover, size and age-appropriateness. He knows that in less then 10 seconds he can have his big, beautiful, chaotic pile in the middle of the floor once again.
Ugh. My sympathies.

And I completely understand the need to organize them.

I think Camcam is the male counterparat to my two yr. old granddaughter Cadie, who I keep every day. Mind you I am 50 something! I am exhausted. I gave up on picking up the books, it's easier to find them on the floor. Today was a wonderful day, Cadie and her friend Haley also two, dusted my living room with Garlic powder! Yes, a brand new 5.34oz bottle of Garlic Powder on every table, TV cabinet,floor,rug,recliners, etc.
ReplyDeleteI just love it!!! Thought I'd pop over here and give you a comment too!!! You sound like you go through the exact same things with your kiddos that I do. We have sooo many books, that always seem to be in the floor in front of the bookshelf. I'm now limiting them to five each that they can reach and put up......I can never find anything around here cuz of the kiddos! Can you?
