Juice Time!

CamCam is so funny, whenever he wants a drink he goes to the drawer where I keep his cups, grabs a cup, grabs the top, and grabs the plastic thing that goes in the top to keep it "spill proof."

I use that term VERY lightly, nothing is spill-proof when it comes to a two year old. If you take the cup and turn it upside down and shake it with all your might, juice droplets will come out. Even better, if you turn it upside down and bang it as hard as your little two year old arm can handle on the floor, you can get quite a bit of liquid to come out. This is best if done with milk as white shows up very well against a hardwood floor, and then you can take your little pool of milk and smear it all over the floor. If I could find a way to make a truly spill-proof cup, I bet I'd be a very rich woman.

It amuses me that he knows to grab all parts to the cup when he wants a drink. Kids really do watch what we do very closely and copy us. A while back, I really needed to get to the grocery store and so was out of juice, and milk, and he wanted a drink. I told him I could give him water, he said "No wa-woo, a-pa ju!" We had this discussion a number of times over the next 15 minutes. Finally he took matters into his own hands and went to our wine rack, grabbed a bottle of wine, brought it to me and said "A-PA JU!"

Anyone know how to explain to a two year old that not all bottles of "juice" are for them???
